Metlox Replacement China
Metlox China was a pottery company based in California, renowned for its vibrant and durable ceramic dinnerware. Founded in 1927 in Manhattan Beach, Metlox initially produced ceramic tiles before expanding into dinnerware under the Poppytrail, Vernonware, and California Pottery brands. The company gained fame for its colorful glazes, hand-painted patterns, and mid-century modern designs that captured the essence of West Coast style.
In the early 1940s, dinnerware production was halted as Metlox shifted its focus to manufacturing machine parts and metal shell casings to support the war effort. After the war, Metlox resumed dinnerware production until it permanently closed in 1989.
